Today is the Orthodox Christmas Eve. I was invited to go to The Old Orthodox Church which was built in the 16th century. Their tradition is to build a small pyre of branches and then light it on fire. I am told this is supposed to bring good luck in the new year. There was also a small manger with a sheep and a few baby lambs.
