Just More Pictures From a walk I Took

I haven't been doing a whole lot recently.  This past week the weather was mostly rainy but there was a little bit of sunshine on Wednesday so I went out for a walk.  Here are just some pictures I took.

More Pictures From My Walk Around Downtown

Before I went to the car show I did a bit of walking around down town and took some pictures

This is City Hall which I was interviewed about.  It was built in 1896 in the pseudo-Moorish style.  It was city hall up until WWII, after which it became the National Library.  Sadly during the war in the 1990’s - 90% of the books and manuscripts were destroyed, some of which, there were no other copies of.

This is called the Sebilj which comes from Arabic and means something like kiosk-like public fountain and is a landmark in what is known as Old Town which some of the buildings date back to 1462.

Just a neat looking corner cafe

Two old guys fishing, I just don't think there are any fish in this part of the river.  The water is clear and probably no more than 1 foot deep and I looked and besides some bottles, I didn't see anything in the river.

This is the Latin Bridge which was built in the 16th century.  At the foot of the bridge is where Gavrilo Princip shot and killed Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife which triggered WWI.

Another angle of City Hall

These are the ruins of some of the oldest buildings in Old Town, dating back to the 1400's.

Some little carnival in the park

This is the school/University of the Fine Arts

This is a neat little bridge that was built in 1893

Back in February there were some protest that got out of hand and the burned the one government building.  Here is a picture of it today.
